The Svalbard Museum

The Svalbard Museum displays artifacts from the history of Svalbard since its settlement, and exhibits of local plants and animals. The goal is to provide broad and comprehensive knowledge of history and nature in the Arctic. Svalbard Museum presents a modern exhibition in a traditional form, with models, reconstructed environments and authentic artifacts. In the museum you will find a gift shop where you can buy Arctic literature, local handicraft, souvenirs, postcards and much more.

North Pole Expedition Museum

NPEM

The North Pole Expedition Museum tells the stories about polar expeditions mainly with airships but also with skis, dogs ledges, boats.
The museum it is in two floors and it is full of old documents and newspapers, pictures, movies, historical artifacts, letters. Through the visit you can understand how much effort the explorers did to reach the mysterious frozen horizons driven by curiosity and interest for scientific research.
